Busken Bakery Case Study

Delivering the Goods, On Time, All the Time

Busken Bakery, famous throughout the Midwest, has been a mix of old-fashioned deliciousness and cutting-edge thinking since 1928. Operating 12 locations in Ohio and Kentucky, Busken Bakery employs 210 part-time and full-time employees. After opening the virtual bakery, an online bakery where customers can browse and order a variety of cookies, breads, coffeecakes and pies, the management team decided to upgrade their outdated manual time management system as well. Busken Bakery has been a client of Cincinnati Time Systems since 1995.

Debbie Long, the Busken Bakery controller, remembers how the search for a new time management system led to Cincinnati Time Systems, "It was relatively easy to use and it saved time in manual calculation." But in an industry where many employees are union members, a system that could adapt to union rules represented the biggest challenge, but Cincinnati Time System was up to the task. The system can accommodate all of the union rules thrown at it and interfaces directly with Busken's payroll provider for increased accuracy. Long enjoys some of the other features Cincinnati Time Systems offers as well, "We count hours weekly and it is easy to highlight department changes, input multiple job rates for a single individual and track labor redistribution without having to manually compile the hours."

For Busken Bakery the priority is bringing an unbelievable freshness to their products, advertising and technology. Increased accuracy and efficiency in time management was the next step and Cincinnati Time Systems delivered. "They have a good, easy to use product for what we're looking to do," says Debbie Long. "And anytime I've ever called there they have helped me tremendously. They do a good job."

Thanks to Debbie Long of Busken Bakery for taking the time to comment and report on the products and services of Cincinnati Time Systems.
